Within your home you probably have a couple of different cords that you’ve lost track of what they do and what they go to. With so many different options and types it might be hard to remember what is supposed to go to what and where you should plug things in. Taking a second to study some of the cables in your home might help to end some of your confusion on what cords to keep and which ones you should be throwing in the recycling for someone else to use. You’ll be surprised which cables are probably of no use to your devices anymore.
The lightning cable
Coming out with every apple phone after the iPhone 4 was the lightning cable port. These cell phone cables are popular among the apple verity and can be used for many of the different products that apple puts out today. Considering that there are almost 395 iPhones sold every minuet within the United States these cords are very popular to find among most homes with new cell phones. In fact, the apple iPhone 7 accounted for 8.1% of all of the phones that were sold in the third quarter of 2017 alone! That’s a lot of lightning cable out and about for so many people to be using considering how many of these cell phones are sold every day.
USB cables are also smartphone cables. Only USB cables are generally used with android phones and all phones that are not of the apple types. These cables are also just as popular as the iPhone lightning cables. With a different shape to them than the lightning cable, USB cables can not be interchanged or used for different types of telephones other than the ones that they are meant for. Little do many people realize, these USB cables come in different types such as USB 2.0 cables and USB 3.2 cables. It all depends on the type of power that your cell phone or other electrical device requires.
HDMi is a different type of cable all together. An HDMI cable is not used on cell phones. Instead, these cables are used for things such as DVD players or video monitors. These types of cables enhance high definition and make your pictures on your screens look nice and clear for you to be watching. These cables were the ones that are now currently used instead of the red, yellow, and white ones that were once used in old television sets and DVD players. These cables are the better type of cable for clearer pictures.
These cables are not quite as popular as they once were. These cables were once the most common forms of cables to have within homes due to the fact that they were the main cable connecting a home PC to a router. While they are still used for modems, they are less popular to be used in order to assure that that you are getting clear internet. Dial up may be a thing of the past, but there are still few uses for Ethernet cables still around. You might find a couple of these around your home.
With so many different types of cables in your home it is easy to be confused with what goes where and where things should be put. But if you keep many electronics in your home it is best to familiarize yourself with the different types of cables and the different uses they have within your home to power on your appliances and to connect others to internet and visual perfection. Help yourself by distinguishing between what USB cables, lightning cables, Ethernet cables, and HDMI cables are. It’ll be much easier for you when you’re in a rush to get out of the house and simply want the one that is going to charge your phone rather than the one that will give you a different form of internet or high definition clarity.
